The line-up for the Thinking Football Summit 2022 continues to take shape and, this Friday, the new partner Almeida, Dias & Associados, named Official Sports Law Partner, has been announced. The firm will be present at the last event to be held on European soil before the World Cup in Qatar.
Founded in 2009, with clients from five continents and offices in Lisbon and Tomar (Portugal), São Paulo (Brazil), Teheran (Iran) and Cairo (Egypt), Almeida, Dias & Associados has vast international experience in providing advice on contractual, commercial and regulatory matters, in particular in Sports, Immigration and Real Estate.
The panel chosen for this partnership will be addressing the impact of the changes in the FIFA regulations on sports agents, with the participation of Gonçalo Almeida, (attorney at Almeida, Dias & Associados), Luís Villas-Boas Silva (Head of Agents - FIFA) and a sports agent.
After concluding his Law degree, Gonçalo Almeida was registered with the Portuguese Bar Association in 2000 (and with the Brazilian one in 2010), has subsequently attended the first edition of the MA in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport (nowadays known as FIFA Master), taught by CIES in England, Italy and Switzerland. Since then, working on Sports Law, practically on an exclusive basis, he has had the privilege of legally representing numerous football clubs, players, coaches and agents/intermediaries of various nationalities, as well as national associations, particularly before the Portuguese sporting bodies, UEFA, FIFA and CAS.
