The Thinking Football announces three new speakers
Tiago Pinto, Javier Latorre and Javier Sobrinho are the new names confirmed for the event, which will take place between the 18th and 20th November, at the Super Bock Arena - Pavilhão Rosa Mota (Porto)
The line-up for the Thinking Football Summit 2022 continues to take shape and, this Thursday, three new speakers, experts in the field of football, are revealed.
Tiago Pinto, current General Manager of AS Roma, is one of the most successful professionals in European football.
In 2012, SL Benfica invited him to lead the club's non-football-related Sports Disciplines project. Under his leadership, the club won more than 50 national and international titles in basketball, futsal, volleyball, handball and roller hockey. Given his success in the Sports Disciplines department, in 2017 the SL Benfica Board invited Tiago Pinto to take on the position of Director of Professional Football, working closely with the SAD's Administrator for Football, at the time Rui Costa. He was responsible for restructuring all departments within the club's professional football with the aim of continuing to develop and develop the young talent on the Benfica Campus academy and empowering the professional football team with the best assets, by signing promising players from other leagues, to win all competitions in which they participate - this was the case in the Liga Portugal bwin, the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira, as well as the club’s regular presences in the Champions League.
In 2021, he joined AS Roma as General Manager for Football, aiming to develop and enhance young talent in order to prepare the club to compete for trophies at the highest level in Italian and European football, working closely with the head coach and the club's officials - Dan and Ryan Friedkin.
Also joining the list, Javier Latorre has dedicated almost 20 years in his life to the sports industry. He began his career as Director of Sports, News and Documentary Television programmes, broadcast both regionally in Valencia and nationally in Spain.
After working in television for several years, in 2012 he moved to Valencia Club de Fútbol. He was initially the Audiovisual Manager in charge of the club's video content and OTT channel - VCFplay, and was involved in the creation of the Media House, of which he has been Director since its launch.
In 2020, Latorre also took on the position of Director of Communications and Institutional Relations at Valencia CF. He is known for being passionate about new trends and developments in the fields of sports, digital, broadcasting and media, and is committed to promoting the growth and internationalisation of Valencia CF through engaging content - achieving the different goals set out and satisfying the club's large fan base both locally and internationally.
Last but not least, Javier Sobrino is Managing Partner of Sports at Aser Ventures, one of the leading global investment platforms in sports, media and technology, and which owns organisations such as Leeds United (Premier League club), ELEVEN Group and Onefootball.
Between 2015 and 2021, Javier was Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer at FC Barcelona. He has developed the Corporate Strategic Plan and coordinated its implementation. He led the Clubs Innovation activities, which included the launch and development of the Barça Innovation Hub project, a leading innovation initiative in the sports industry.
Javier is also Professor of Strategic Management & Innovation in the sports industry in different Universities. He has written different books, including "Sport, an economic sector" and "Sports Diplomacy".
