Carlos Queiroz: "It was worth it and it was great fun!"
Carlos Queiroz on the TFS Stage in a Conversation with Carlos Daniel, Recalling Memorable Moments from His Professional Life
“It was worth it, and it was a lot of fun!” This is how Carlos Queiroz summed up his four decades of professional career, years in which he secured four World Cup qualifications and final stages, and two U-20 World Cup titles.
In front of a packed TFS Stage, with Carlos Daniel leading the conversation, the former coach began by stating that “the coach must be the conductor of all disciplines, whether it’s analyzing opponents, reading the game, or managing the locker room,” offering some advice to the new generation.
“The amount of information available today is overwhelming. You have to know how to distinguish between what is toxic and what is necessary. Anything that’s merely complementary should be eliminated. And when we start being influenced by what others say, control is already lost. We must stay one step ahead and anticipate communication,” he said, also reinforcing his lifelong passion for the beautiful game:
“Football is craft and art. I am passionate about football and the game. We must never lose the ability to make players more competent.”
