José Couceiro: "Congratulations to Liga Portugal and its President for this space of sharing"
Vice President of the Portuguese Football Federation spoke at the Closing Ceremony of the Thinking Football Summit 2024.
José Couceiro, Vice President of the Portuguese Football Federation, delivered a speech this Thursday at the Closing Ceremony of the Thinking Football Summit, which took place on the TFS Stage at the end of the event's first day. In his remarks, he began by praising education and training as the foundations for building high-level competition.
“It is through education and training that we are able to evolve, improve, and become more capable. If today we are a benchmark in this industry, it is because over the years we have managed to combine training, reaching high performance at the top levels of our teams, both in Europe and globally, as reflected in our best Clubs and National Teams,” began José Couceiro, who went on to praise Pedro Proença and Liga Portugal for organizing the summit held at the Super Bock Arena in Porto.
“This is the important path of the Thinking Football Summit: to have this kind of sharing, without any fear, because in football, as in all team sports, we are better when our opponents are stronger. It’s important to have the whole, not just a single winner. And that whole can only succeed if there is balance. To achieve that balance, we must work on the foundation first. Know how to train. Know how to create conditions that allow us to reach that point. In this regard, I must, of course, congratulate Liga Portugal, its President, and the entire organization, because this is a space for sharing, where we can learn, make better decisions, become more capable, and train better. I believe this is the path to having opponents, not enemies,” concluded the Vice President of the Portuguese Football Federation.
