EY renews partnership as Corporate Partner of the Thinking Football Summit
EY, one of the world’s leading consulting firms, has renewed its partnership with the Thinking Football Summit, reaffirming its role as a Corporate Partner for the third consecutive year. The summit, taking place from September 12 to 14 at the Super Bock Arena in Porto, continues to benefit from the strategic support of EY Portugal, solidifying its position as one of the most influential partners in the development of professional football in Portugal.
A Strategic Partner of Liga Portugal since 2018, EY, a global leader in assurance, tax, transactions, and consulting services, has played a crucial role in producing the Annual Report of Portuguese Professional Football. The firm provides detailed analysis and economic insights that have been instrumental to the football industry.
This renewed partnership underlines the success of EY Portugal's involvement in previous editions of the Thinking Football Summit, reinforcing the event’s importance in the international sports calendar. Throughout the summit, EY will be deeply engaged in moderating and participating in various panel discussions. The consulting firm will bring its extensive experience and expertise in economic and financial areas, offering specialized perspectives on the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of the football industry.
For João Medeiros Cardoso, Managing Director of Liga Portugal Comercial, “The continuity of the partnership between EY Portugal and the Thinking Football Summit reflects the shared commitment to driving the sustainable and strategic development of football in Portugal. EY has been a vital partner, not only in producing the Annual Report of Portuguese Professional Football but also in its ongoing support for the professionalization of our sport. Their active participation in the summit’s discussion panels provides an invaluable opportunity for knowledge sharing and strengthening the industry globally.”
Miguel Cardoso Pinto, Partner and Strategy and Transactions Leader at EY Portugal, highlights the growing economic impact of professional football in Portugal, recalling that the sector contributed €667 million to the GDP in the 2022-23 season. "For the third year in a row, in line with its commitment as a strategic partner of Liga Portugal, EY will be at the Thinking Football Summit with the primary objective of providing data and insights on professional football in Portugal. This will encourage reflection and debate on the current context, challenges, and future opportunities for this important industry."
