Economic impact of Thinking Football Summit expected to exceed 3.5 million euros

A study conducted by the Portuguese Institute of Marketing Administration (IPAM), released this Thursday, estimates that the third edition of the Thinking Football Summit, set to take place on September 12-14, 2024, at the Super Bock Arena in Porto, will generate an economic impact of over 3.5 million euros.

According to IPAM’s methodology, based on data from the Tourism Observatory and Tourism Statistics on the average daily spending of both national and international visitors and congress participants, the impact is significantly boosted by the presence of international attendees and speakers. This global dimension is expected to contribute to a total estimated economic impact of over 2.5 million euros.

Additionally, domestic participants are projected to generate an extra 500,000 euros in economic activity.

The third edition of the Thinking Football Summit will attract prominent figures from the football industry to Porto, including Antero Henrique, Sporting Director of the Qatar Stars League; Carlos Queiroz, former national team coach; Claire Bloomfield, Director of Women's Football at the European Club Association; Deco, former Portuguese international and current Sporting Director of FC Barcelona; Francisco de Sá Fardilha, Technical Director of Women's Football at FC Bayern Munich; Guy-Laurent Epstein, Marketing Director at UEFA; Javier Tebas, President of LaLiga; Luis Campos, Sporting Director of Paris Saint-Germain; Nicolás Burdisso, former Argentine international; Ornella Desirée Bellia, Director of Professional Football Relations and Development at FIFA; Paulo Sousa, Portuguese coach of Shabab Al Ahli; Sol Campbell, former English footballer and tech entrepreneur; and Stefano Braghin, Director of Women's Football at Juventus.
