Covid-19 and its impact on Portuguese Football
The first webinar promoting the Thinking Football Summit took place on January 22nd, focusing on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in Portuguese Football, a subject that was discussed in four different panels with prominent guests, in a session moderated by Pedro Candeias, sports editor at Expresso.
The first panel addressed "The return of the public to the stadiums - Challenges for the future", with the participation of Sónia Carneiro, Coordinating Executive Director of Liga Portugal; Hugo Freitas, Board Member of SC Braga; Martha Gens, President of the Portuguese Association for the Protection of the Fans; and Rui Cordeiro, President of Santa Clara.
In the second panel, the main subject was "The impact of Covid-19 on Portuguese Football", with Susana Rodas, Executive Director at Liga Portugal; Óscar Gaspar, Member of the Executive Committee of CIP; Miguel Farinha, Head of Strategy and Transactions of EY Portugal; and José Francisco Neves, Member of the Executive Committee at Allianz Portugal, addressing the issue.
"Piracy in football - how to fight it" was the topic of the third panel of this first webinar, with the following speakers: Diogo Nabais, advisor of the Secretary of State for Youth and Sports; Hermano Rodrigues, Principal at EY-Partheno; Pedro Bravo, Head of Content Protection at NOS; Emilio Fernandez, Head of Technological Content Protection at LaLiga; Pedro Mota Soares, General Secretary at Apritel; Tiago Esteves, Marketing and Sales Director at Sport TV; Rui Caeiro, Strategic Planning Director at Liga Portugal and Hugo Freitas, IT Director at the Portuguese Football Federation.
At the end of the event, the conversations focused on the "Players' health during the Covid-19 pandemic", with the participation of Helena Pires, Executive Director at Liga Portugal; Ricardo Antunes, Member of the Medical Department at SL Benfica; Nelson Puga, Member Of the Medical Department at FC Porto; Filipe Froes, Pneumologist and consultant of Liga Portugal and João Pedro Mendonça, Head of the Football Doctors Association.
