Liga Portugal partners with the SCB Innovation Hub
The partnership provides for an exclusive exhibition space at the next edition of the Thinking Football, a major international summit organized by Liga Portugal, to be held this year between September 7 and 9
Liga Portugal has associated itself with the SCB Innovation Hub, by awarding the startups that are selected for the first edition of the business accelerator programme for 'sports tech' promoted by SC Braga.
The SCB Innovation Hub and the startup companies to be selected for 2023/24 will have an exhibition space in the next edition of Thinking Football, a major international summit organized by Liga Portugal and which will be held this year between September 7 and 9 in Porto (Super Bock Arena).
The startups that are selected after the application phase, open until the end of April, will be invited to participate in this essential football forum, but for those companies that, at the end of the programme, are voted the best in each of the four defined areas, will be also invited to have their own exhibition area at the Thinking Football 2024.
António Salvador, President of SC Braga, sees this partnership with Liga Portugal and Thinking Football to be highly exciting. "This is an important recognition of the value that this accelerator programme will have, not only for SC Braga, but for the whole industry. This invitation and this opportunity that Liga Portugal gives to the startups selected is a demonstration of a clear vision of what the future is and of the importance of walking this path together", said António Salvador.
Pedro Proença, President of Liga Portugal, congratulated SC Braga and partners involved in the project and highlighted Liga Portugal's cooperation. "The future of Football lies in the industry's ability to innovate. This is a project aimed at the present and future. It is with great pleasure that Liga Portugal joins the SC Braga Innovation Hub, through the Thinking Football Summit, with the event serving as a platform for promotion," said Pedro Proença.
The Thinking Football had its first edition in November 2022, with thousands of attendees and and event that immediately established itself as a benchmark summit for discussion and reflection on the present and future of the football and sports industry.
The SCB Innovation Hub is the accelarator programme for 'sports tech' promoted by SC Braga in partnership with Microsoft and starts in June this year. The application phase is open until April 30th.
