Andy O'Sullivan, Chester King, Sally Taplin and Thiago Scuro are the new names that, as a result of the recent partnership with Bluerock, will be joining the line-up of speakers at the event
The Thinking Football Summit 2022 continues to secure new names and, this Thursday, four new speakers have been announced, all of them linked to the Football industry.
The first one being Andy O'Sullivan, Venue Director at Tottenham Hotspur, who joined the English club in 2012. He took on full P&L responsibility to successfully deliver the commercial strategy required for the wider Stadium Campus, as well as to delivering the design, development and implementation of the stadium interiors and the operational event day delivery. Andy was responsible for re-writing a best-in-class fan experience.
Also joining us, Chester King is the CEO and co-owner of the International Group of companies. In January 2016 the UK Government gave authority to Chester to establish the British Esports Association as the national body for esports in the UK. British Esports, with Pearson, has created esports qualifications (BTEC) for schools and colleges. In 2022 there are about 2,000 students studying this full time eSports qualification.
Also from England, comes Sally Taplin, an elected Board director of Lewes FC, with a budget equally split across their Women’s and Men sections who play respectively in the Women’s Championship (2nd Division) and Men’s Isthmian League (Regional League). She has also helped organisations such as IHG, The FA and Deutsche Bank organise themselves around their customers and form partnerships that create new growth and employment opportunity for the community. These include the landmark sponsorship of professional Women’s football in the UK between Barclays and the Women’s Super League and Girls Grassroots football in schools, and the European Pizza Hut New Founders programme to create growth post-pandemic.
Last but not least, Thiago Scuro is Head of Football Operation at Red Bull Bragantino since 2017. He took over with the aim of putting the club in the elite of Brazilian football in a sustainable and financially viable way. In less than 5 years he has guided the club to the Serie B title of the Brazilian Championship in 2019, securing promotion to the top division of professional football, and a 6th place in the Serie A of the "Brasileirão" in 2021.
It should be mentioned that these new speakers are part of the recent partnership with Bluerock, a company founded by a team of stadium and arena experts, with a vision of offering a one stop shop for venue clients, combining operations, commercial strategy and design input, to make venues more efficient and profitable.
Bluerock’s team each have over 20 years’ experience working with some of the world’s best-known events and venues, including iconic national stadiums such as Wembley, the Maracanã, the Luzhniki stadium and the new Lusail International Stadium. Club experience spans stadium projects for FC Porto, Galatasaray S.K., FC Nantes and Leinster Rugby as well as working on training ground development for SC Braga and the new Liga Portugal headquarters. The team have also worked on the most famous global events – The Olympic games, FIFA World Cup, UEFA Euros and Champions League and the FIBA World Cup.
Thus, more than an international event, which is expected to be highly successful for the Portuguese Professional Football, the Thinking Football Summit, scheduled to take place between the 18th and 20th of November 2022, at the Super Bock Arena - Pavilhão Rosa Mota (Porto), will welcome some of the best national and international protagonists in the world of Football.
